The Clifton Heights Fire Company proudly serves the borough of Clifton Heights and surrounding areas with Fire and EMS Protection. The Borough of Clifton Heights is located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania approximately 5 miles from Philadelphia. The fire company consists of 1 Quint, 2 Engines, 1 Ambulance, 1 command vehicle, and 1 utility truck. Our mission is to protect and serve the borough of Clifton Heights and its surrounding communities in which we are called upon, with the strong dedication and professionalism of our members.

July 4th Celebration

The members of the Fire Company began  the 4th of July with a GREAT breakfast at the station. Special thanks to Mike Brady, Dan Traband, Marie Newell and others for putting the breakfast together.  The company then participated in the annual parade. The day was concluded with a terrific fireworks display. Thank you to all crew members who gave up their holiday time.

CLIFTON HEIGHTS ASSISTS DARBY AT WORKING FIRE

Clifton Heights FC was called to assist Darby (04) on Whitley Terrace for a middle of the row house fire.  Quint 03 was on the initial dispatch and the remained of company 03 was dispatched on the second alarm.  Clifton Heights cleared the station of all apparatus.  Command 03 was Chief Kneass (03-9).  Quint 03 was used to ladder the end of the row and crews from Engines 03-2, 03-1 and Utility 03 were used as additional support.  Company 44 (Engine 44) and Manoa (56-7) covered up for Company 03. 


 
Passing of Past Chief John Gorman

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Past Chief John Gorman of the Clifton Heights Fire Company.  John was a 61year life member of the fire company and served as Chief, President and Chairman of the Board.  John was also a life member of the Cardington Stonehurst Fire Company where he held the position of Assistant Chief.  He was the Past CH Borough Fire Marshal and the Seventh District Fire Marshal.

Please keep the Gorman family in your prayers.


 
2ND ALARM IN COLWYN

At 12:34pm, Quint 3 was dispatched to respond to the 100 Block of Chestnut Street, Colwyn on the 2nd alarm assignment. Quint 3 arrived and raised the aerial ladder to roof for a secondary escape route for the truck companies operating on the roof.  Engine 03-2 laid a 5 inch supply line to Quint 06. Both crews assisted with the extensive overhaul and clean up.

Companies on Scene: 04 (Darby #1), 21 (Darby#2), 42 (Collingdale#2), 06 (Collingdale #1), 09 (Sharon Hill), 16 (Yeadon) and RIT 19 (Lansdowne).


 
2009 STARTS WITH A WORKING FIRE

Company 03 was dispatched along with Company 19 (Lansdowne), Company 20 (Garrettford-Drexel Hill), and RIT 09 (Sharon Hill) to Ardmore Ave. in Lansdowne for a building fire. Chief 19 (Young Sr.) arrived and reported a working fire in a 2.5 story twin. Quint 03 went on location and quickly laid a 5 inch supply line to Engine 19. During the first few minutes of the fire attack, there was some type of explosion which occurred and lifted a portion of the roof. As the fire began to make its way over to the exposure, Chief 19 added Company 16 (Yeadon) and RIT 43 (Holmes) and thereafter a full second alarm bringing in Companies 06 (Collingdale #1), 42 (Collingdale #2), 04 (Darby #1), 24 (East Lansdowne) and Tower 74(Primos-Secane-Westbrook-Park).

Former Quint 3 Now Ladder 26
Former Quint 3 is now in service as Ladder 26 with the City of LaFayette Georgia Fire Department.  Clifton Heights Fire Company sold the 1994 Pierce 75' Quint to Command Fire Apparatus in Lancaster PA who in turn sold it to the City of LaFayette GA. As part of the sales agreement  Assistant Chief Nick DePompeo recently spent two days with the LaFayette  Fire Department going over the truck/pump operations. We would to like congratulate LaFayette FD on there new quint and wish them the best of luck with it.   


 
   
   
New Seagrave Quint in service
   
We are proud to announce that the new Quint 3 is in service. It is a 2008 Seagrave and features a heavy duty 100' Aerial ladder, 1750 gpm pump, 500 gallon water tank, full compliment of ground ladders and carries 800 feet of 5" supply line. Special thanks to Deputy Chief Jerry DePompeo, Assistant Chief Nick DePompeo, Chief Engineer Dan Traband, Sr. and Engineer Mike Brady and all of our crew members who put in countless hours preparing to get the new Quint in service.     


 
ACCIDENT ON BROADWAY AVE.

At around 3:46pm Company & Ambulance 03 along with Medic 103-7B were dispatched to the 100 Block of E. Broadway Ave. for an accident with injuries. 03-1 responded and swept up debris caused by the contact between the vehicle and a SEPTA Trolley while the crew of 03-7 provided patient care. 103-7B was canceled while enroute.

WORKING FIRE IN LANSDOWNE

This morning Companies 03 (Clifton Heights), 24 (East Lansdowne), 16 (Yeadon), RIT 09 (Sharon Hill) and Medic 105 (Fitz) were dispatched to assist Company 19 (Lansdowne) on the first alarm assignment for a possible dwelling fire. Lansdowne police arrived to find a three story single family dwelling with the entire 1st floor fully involved. Quint 3 under the command of 03-9 (Kneass) arrived on location and immediately threw ground ladders up against the building reaching the second floor. The crew then pulled a second inch and 3/4 handline off of Engine 19 and assisted with fire suppression on the first floor. Engine 03-2, 03-1, and Utility 3's crews assisted with overhaul while 03-7 stood by the fire ground.
